Research has highlighted the importance of the relationship between client and therapist in relation to its success. Finding someone you trust and feel comfortable with is crucial.
As a psychotherapist I will provide a safe and confidential space to explore thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to share with family and friends. I will help you make sense of difficult feelings and help identify patterns and behaviours that may perpetuate difficult feelings. Encouraging you to think with me about what might be being avoided, all of which can lead to insight and clarity into how you are living your life .
I belief that there is no single therapeutic style that holds all the answers so I take an integrative approach. This allows me to be flexible and tailor the work to meet your individual needs.
My core beliefs as a therapist are influenced by psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking and I believe that our childhood experiences produce a blue print as to what we can expect from others and ourselves. Within the therapeutic relationship these believes can be explored and challenged, which can lead to a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.
